Radio Telescope: e-CALLISTO Receiver on 50 ~ 1300 MHz Log Periodic Antenna

Receiver commissioned 12 February, 2011

Read the Light-Curve as follows:

The bottom horizontal scale is a 24-hour time scale in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). The scale label indicates the date of the chart (dd/mm/yyyy)

The  left vertical scale shows the received power in decibels above the average background noise. Up to five individual frequencies are selected from the frequency list used by the receiver, and these frequencies and corresponding trace color are shown in the upper-right corner of the chart.

Considerable radio frequency interference is received by this installation as indicated by the traces rising and falling throughout the day. These traces essentially show the antenna pattern corresponding to the trace frequency as the antenna tracks the Sun and is illuminated by strong RFI sources such as television broadcast stations.
