Discone Antenna
The discone antenna used in this installation is the Diamond D130NJ. It has an advertised (but exaggerated) bandwidth of 25 to 1,300 MHz. It presently is used mostly in the 118 to 400 MHz aviation bands and is more or less adequate for that purpose. The Discone is mounted above the roof peak at about 15 m above ground level on 3/4 in. galvanized steel conduit mast.
